I used this for about a year before making the mistake of moving to the X299 platform. With this CPU you dont have to spend over a grand on a chip for40 PCI express lanes. With the 40 PCI express lanes you have the expansion Freedom that the new 8 cores dont have.

When I had this in use I had it cooled with a custom water loop. Because of this, temperatures never exceeded 59°C even when overclocked to 4 GHz with a full load for over an hour.

I typically left it at stock speeds but why have OC parts if youre not going to use them at some point. The CPU is a Silicone Lottery certifiable top-tier chip running at 4.3 GHz at only 1.26V. The Motherboard has Thunderbolt 3 built-in as well as USB 3.1 type C and A. You will need to get the drivers from the gigabyte website as they are not on the driver disk.

This motherboard really does have every future you could hope for on the X 99 platform and is the first motherboard that had an integrated RGB LED header for an LED strip. (1) Gigabyte X99-Designare EX motherboard with all original accessories and box included as seen in photos minus the m. 2 WiFi card and antenna. (1) Intel i7-6900K 3.2GHz 8C/16T processor w/box (cpu will be left in the socket).

(2) Patriot 4GB RAM 2133MHz DDR4 memory for a total of 8GB. No CPU cooler, SSD or video card included.
